Featured Teacher: Mrs. Nollan

“Students are innately curious, I love figuring out how to build on this and connect their interests to content.”

New not only to Shortlidge, but also to Delaware, Mrs. Natalie Nollan has already proven herself as a dynamic educator in 2nd grade who has a passion for our students and families.  Mrs. Nollan started her journey working for Google, but realized that working behind a desk was not for her when she began volunteering with foster families. She realized the impact that teachers can have on students and decided to follow her heart earning her Master’s degree in education from WGU and we are so excited that her journey has now led her to Wilmington! 

Mrs. Nollan loves when her students identify how the content we are learning in school connects to real life experiences. She had the pleasure of taking her class to Milburn Orchard and was impressed with how engaged her students were in the outdoor, hands-on learning that was taking place! When she’s not prepping her lessons or teaching her students, you can catch Mrs. Nollan exploring the great outdoors or busting a move at a karaoke night somewhere! She believes in helping students find their own voice and equipping them with the knowledge to know how their voice and ideas fit into a classroom community.
