Featured Teacher: Jenna Albright

Featured Teacher: Jenna Albright

“Students learn best when they are involved in their learning and active in their learning growth.”

Ms. Jenna Albright is our first featured teacher for the calendar year 2025! As a former Shortlidge Teacher of the Year (2022), she knows a thing or two about shaping young minds and turning students into readers! She has been teaching for 8 years and was inspired to be a teacher by her own elementary school teachers to become a teacher because of the impact that they had on her growing up. Ms. Albright’s hobbies include shopping, playing tennis, and spending time at the shore with her family! Ms. Albright has both her bachelor’s and master’s degree in Exceptional Children (Severe Disabilities and Autism) from the University of Delaware as well as a board certification as a Behavior Analyst.

Ms. Albrfight believes that her role is to foster the love and want for learning in her students and she shows that each and every day in her Kindergarten classroom. The most rewarding part of teaching for her is seeing young students who have a love for learning and a hunger for knowledge and students who generally love their time at school. Her advice to anyone interested in becoming a teacher is to make sure you build a strong school community around yourself. Teaching is very rewarding, but can be tough at times, so having a school family to surround yourself with can make all the difference! Thanks for all that you do and have done here at Shortlidge, Ms. Albright!
