“Collaboration and interaction are essential; engaging students in discussions and group work can deepen understanding and build community.”

- Aaron Brown

Mr. Brown counsels a student.

Mr. Aaron Brown is a dedicated first-grade teacher at Shortlidge Academy, bringing five years of experience and a passion for early education. A graduate of Stony Brook University and Wilmington University, he holds a master’s degree in Early Education and is committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment. Mr. Brown emphasizes the importance of critical thinking and collaboration in the classroom, believing that strong relationships and active engagement are key to student success. One of his most memorable experiences each year is watching his students transition to second grade and eventually move on to Warner Elementary, a bittersweet reminder of their growth.

Outside of the classroom, Mr. Brown enjoys simple pleasures like mowing the lawn and grilling, finding joy in everyday moments. He is inspired daily by his three children to be the best version of himself, both as a father and an educator. Known for his approachable and flexible teaching style, Mr. Brown encourages new teachers to be adaptable and to invest in truly knowing their students. If he could take his class anywhere, it would be Disneyland—reflecting the enthusiasm his students often share during morning meetings. With a personality as bold and versatile as his favorite condiment, Frank’s Hot Sauce, Mr. Brown is truly a valued and inspiring member of the Shortlidge community.
